What is Baraati?

Baraati is a private, invite-only mobile app for Indian weddings, made by Baraati LLP in Pune, India. One app is created per wedding. The couple and their families are the hosts; everyone they invite is a guest.

Guests join with a 6-character invite code and get the animated digital invitation, RSVP, the full multi-day ceremony schedule, travel and hotel-room details, a private photo feed and wedding games — all in one place, themed for that wedding.

Who is Baraati for?

Couples and families running an Indian wedding, and the guests they invite. It is built around the structure of an Indian wedding — three to five days, five or more ceremonies, guests travelling in from other cities and countries — rather than a single-day Western reception.

Professional wedding planners use Baraati Planner, the web command centre, alongside the guest app.

How do I create a wedding on Baraati?

Download the app, sign in with a one-time passcode, and tap Create Wedding. You add the couple's names, your dates, and each ceremony with its venue and time. The couple photo you upload becomes the hero image on your guests' invitation. It takes about twenty minutes.

You can start on the free plan and upgrade whenever you are ready — nothing has to be decided up front.

How do guests join the wedding?

The host shares one link or a 6-character invite code. A guest installs the app, signs in with a one-time passcode sent to their email or phone, enters the code, picks their side (Bride's, Groom's or Event Team), and they are in.

There is no password to remember and no account to create in advance. Invite links look like baraati.co.in/join?code=XXXXXX.

Do my guests need to be tech-savvy?

The journey is: tap a link, type a 6-digit code from a text message, slide to RSVP. There is no password, no profile to fill in before you can see anything, and no menu to learn. Everything a guest needs is on the first screen they land on.

Is Baraati available on Android?

Not yet on Google Play, as of August 2026. Baraati is live on the iOS App Store for iPhone and iPad, and the Android app is in development. Message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you the moment it ships.

Is there a web version for guests?

No. Guests use the mobile app. The one thing that lives on the web is the published wedding album on the Premium plan, which is view-only and shareable by link after the wedding. Hosts and planners also have the web-based Baraati Planner.

How much does Baraati cost?

Free for a wedding with up to 10 guests. Above that: Standard ₹11,000 or Premium ₹21,000 — one time, for the whole wedding. Not per guest, not per day, not a subscription.

Do guests pay anything?

Never. Guests join, RSVP, post photos and play games free on every plan, including Premium. Only the host pays, and only once.

What is the difference between Standard and Premium?

Standard (₹11,000) unlocks unlimited guests, encrypted government-ID collection, travel and accommodation management, guest groups with targeted notifications, the full host admin dashboard, 150 printed A5 thank-you cards, and full-time support.

Premium (₹21,000) adds the published wedding album — your whole wedding as its own website at a baraati.co.in subdomain, live for three years, with premium templates and priority support.

Is the free plan really free?

Yes, and it is not a time-limited trial. A wedding with up to 10 guests can use Baraati free forever, including the schedule, guest list and RSVP, photo feed, I-Spy, all the games and leaderboard, and every theme. The paid plans exist for weddings that outgrow 10 guests.

How do I pay?

Online by UPI, card or net banking. Your plan unlocks on your wedding immediately after payment. Prices are in Indian Rupees, and Baraati sells and delivers within India.

Are there any recurring charges?

One, and only on Premium: after your album website's first three years — which are included in the ₹21,000 — it costs ₹510 per year to keep it online. Everything else is a single payment.

Can I get a refund?

Refund and cancellation terms are published in full at baraati.co.in/refunds.

How does the digital invitation work?

Every guest opens a full-screen animated invitation: your photo in a scroll-parallax hero, your names in poster type, and every ceremony laid out day by day. It is the first thing they see when they join, and they can reopen it any time.

How do guests RSVP?

They slide to confirm — one gesture. The options are Yes, Can't make it, and Tentative. You get a push notification the moment each reply lands.

Can guests RSVP to individual ceremonies?

No. RSVP in Baraati is for the whole wedding, not per ceremony. This is a deliberate design choice: one clear number that a caterer and a hotel can act on, rather than six partly-filled ones.

How do I see who is coming?

The host dashboard shows a live headcount — yes, no, tentative, and still-pending — that updates in real time. You can also see it guest by guest, and export the guest list.

Can I chase the guests who haven't replied?

Yes. You can send a reminder to only the people who have not responded — to a guest group or to one person — rather than messaging the entire list again.

Can I use Baraati just for RSVPs?

Yes. Plenty of hosts start there. Send the invite, collect the replies, and use the schedule and photo feed only if you want them. See the RSVP app page or the free RSVP tracker.

Does Baraati handle multi-day weddings?

Yes — that is the core structure, not an add-on. Mehndi, haldi, sangeet, baraat, phera, reception and any custom ceremony each get their own entry with date, time, venue, map link and dress code.

What happens if a ceremony time or venue changes?

You edit it once. Every guest's app updates instantly and a push notification goes out. Nothing gets buried in a chat scroll the way a message does.

Can guests share their travel plans?

Yes. Guests enter their own arrival and departure date, time, mode of travel and confirmation number. Hosts see one arrivals board for the whole wedding and can export it as a CSV for the ground team.

Can I assign hotel rooms?

Yes, on Standard and Premium. Hosts assign room numbers and each guest sees their own in the app, so nobody queues in the lobby to find out where they are staying.

What is the Travel Concierge?

It reads your travel roster and clusters guests landing in the same window into shared airport pickups, with a vehicle recommendation and a dispatch time. One tap produces a WhatsApp-ready roster you can hand to the driver team.

Is Baraati good for destination weddings?

It is the case Baraati is strongest for. Travel rosters, shared pickups, room allocation and encrypted ID collection are precisely what an out-of-town or NRI guest list needs. See the destination wedding page.

How does photo sharing work?

Every wedding has a private photo and video feed with emoji reactions, plus a separate behind-the-scenes channel for the inner circle. Guests post from their phones during the wedding, so the photos collect themselves instead of scattering across three hundred camera rolls.

Are the photos public?

No. The feed exists only inside your wedding, which is reachable only with your invite code. There is no public gallery and nothing is indexed or listed anywhere.

What is I-Spy?

A photo scavenger hunt. The host sets the moments to capture — with the bride, with the groom, on the dance floor, someone crying at the phera — and guests go find them. Each guest can upload up to 10 photos per moment, and everyone can react to what others capture.

What games does Baraati include?

Word Search (a timed hunt in a 15×15 grid seeded with facts about the couple, with hidden bonus words), Predictions (live polls with running vote percentages), Who's Most Likely? (rapid-fire bride-or-groom questions, 15 seconds each), and I-Spy.

All of them feed one shared leaderboard, which also awards points for completing a profile, adding travel details and uploading an ID.

Can I control when games go live?

Yes. Hosts unlock each game on cue — trivia at the sangeet, I-Spy running across the whole week.

Can I download the photos afterwards?

On Premium, the whole wedding is published as an album website at your own subdomain, live for three years and shareable by one link. On Free and Standard, content is kept for about two months after the wedding and then deleted, with advance warning to the host.

Is my wedding private?

Yes. A wedding is reachable only with its invite code. There are no public listings, no discovery feed, and no ads. Photos, games and the feed live only inside your wedding's space.

Can guests see each other's phone numbers?

No — and that is a concrete difference from a wedding WhatsApp group, where every number is exposed to everyone in it. Guests see names, photos and roles, not contact details.

How are government ID documents protected?

With AES-256-GCM envelope encryption: each document is encrypted with its own key, and that key is itself encrypted with a master key held server-side. Documents are never exposed by public link — a download is a streamed decrypt. Every access is audit-logged, and the feature is disabled entirely on rooted or jailbroken devices.

Uploads are optional, visible only to that wedding's hosts, auto-deleted three days after the wedding, and deletable by the guest at any time. Full detail on the security page.

Why would a wedding need guest IDs at all?

Indian hotels, venues, airlines and visa processes routinely ask for guest ID copies before check-in or ticketing. Today that usually happens as photographs of Aadhaar cards sent over WhatsApp. Baraati exists to make that specific, unavoidable task safe.

Does Baraati sell my data or show ads?

No, to both.

How do I report or block someone?

Tap the ••• menu on any feed post, I-Spy capture or profile. Reporting hides the content from you immediately and notifies the wedding's hosts; violating content is removed within 24 hours. Blocking hides everything that person posts. Blocked accounts are managed under Profile → Blocked Accounts.

How do I delete my account?

In the app under Profile → Delete Account, or follow the steps at baraati.co.in/delete-account.

What can hosts do that guests can't?

Hosts manage the guest list and guest groups, see live RSVP aggregates, broadcast or target notifications, assign hotel rooms, view the travel roster, collect encrypted ID documents, unlock games, and order thank-you cards.

Can more than one person host?

Yes. A wedding usually has several hosts — the couple, parents on both sides, a sibling running logistics, sometimes a professional planner. All of them get host access.

Can I track my wedding budget and vendors?

Yes, in Baraati Planner — the web command centre that syncs live with the guest app. It covers budget (estimates versus actuals), tasks and timeline, vendors and bookings, shopping lists, guest management and analytics.

Can I send updates to only some guests?

Yes. Create guest groups — bride's side, bus 2, the college gang — and message precisely: everyone, one group, or one person.

What are the thank-you cards?

150 printed A5 thank-you cards, included free on Standard and Premium. You design them in the app after the wedding — your own artwork, or a message and a photo — and they are printed and shipped to your address, ready to post.

How is Baraati different from a WhatsApp group?

A group chat cannot give you a countable RSVP, cannot model five ceremonies across four days, buries important updates within hours, exposes every guest's phone number to every other guest, and scatters the photos. How is Baraati different from WedMeGood or WeddingWire?

Those are vendor marketplaces — you use them to find and book a photographer, a venue or a makeup artist. Baraati is what you use afterwards, to run the wedding itself and give your guests one app. They are complementary, not alternatives.

How is Baraati different from Joy, Zola or The Knot?

Those are US-market products built around a wedding website and a gift registry, on a single-day model. Baraati is built for the Indian structure: multiple ceremonies across multiple days, guests travelling in, hotel rooms to allocate, and IDs a venue will ask for. Baraati has no gift registry.

Does Baraati help me find vendors?

No. Baraati does not do vendor discovery or booking, and does not take vendor commissions. Use a marketplace for that, then use Baraati to run the wedding.
