Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 August 2026  ·  Effective: 1 August 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Baraati mobile application and website at baraati.co.in, operated by Baraati LLP ("Baraati", "we", "us", or "our"). Our Privacy Policy separately describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data, and forms part of your agreement with us alongside these Terms.

By downloading, installing, or using Baraati, you agree to be bound by these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The Service

Baraati is a private, invite-only wedding platform that lets a Host create a dedicated wedding experience and invite Guests to join by sharing an invite link or code. The platform enables Hosts and Guests to share event schedules, venues, photos and videos, RSVPs, games, travel information, and other wedding-related content within a private, per-wedding group. A single account may be a Host in one wedding and a Guest in another.

2. Accounts & Eligibility

3. Host Responsibilities

If you create or administer a wedding on Baraati, you are a "Host" and you agree to:

4. Guest Responsibilities

As a Guest joining a wedding on Baraati, you agree to:

5. User Content

Your Ownership

You retain ownership of any photos, videos, or text you post on Baraati. By posting content, you grant Baraati a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (e.g. resize), and display that content solely to operate the Service for that wedding — including showing it to members and, where the Host publishes one, in that wedding's album. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies others have already saved or that the Host has independently exported/published, and except for backups retained for a limited period.

Prohibited Content & Activities

You must not post content, or use the Service, in a way that:

We may, but are not obliged to, review content. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or the law (including in response to a valid takedown or privacy request by a person depicted in content) and to suspend or terminate accounts responsible for repeated violations. Hosts may remove content within their wedding.

Zero Tolerance, Reporting & Blocking

Baraati has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. Every photo, video, and caption in the feed and I‑Spy carries a "•••" menu with two controls:

We (and the wedding's Hosts) review every report and act on objectionable content within 24 hours — removing the content and, where warranted, suspending or permanently banning the person who posted it. Reports can also be sent to support@baraati.co.in. By using the Service you agree to these Terms, including this content policy.

6. Intellectual Property

The Baraati name, logo, app design, themes, and all original content created by us are the exclusive property of Baraati LLP. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of our platform without our prior written consent.

7. Government ID Documents

The feature to upload government-issued identity documents exists solely to facilitate hotel or venue check-in coordination managed by the Host. Uploading an ID is voluntary and requires your express consent. By uploading, you consent to your document being encrypted, stored, and made available to the Hosts of that specific wedding for this limited purpose only. Government IDs are automatically deleted 3 days after the wedding's last day; you may also withdraw consent and delete your document at any time in the app or by contacting support@baraati.co.in. This feature is disabled on compromised (rooted/jailbroken) devices.

8. Plans & Payments

Baraati offers wedding plans (Free, Standard, and Premium) with differing features and limits; current pricing is shown on our pricing page. Paid plans are a one-time, prepaid purchase per wedding — not a subscription, with no auto-renewal or recurring mandate. Payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay; we do not store your card, UPI or bank details. Prices are in Indian Rupees and we sell and deliver within India only.

Cancellations, refunds (including the 3-day cooling-off window), and delivery timelines for the complimentary printed thank-you cards are governed by our Refund, Cancellation & Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Where a Premium plan enables a post-wedding online album, the album is hosted online for up to 3 years, after which it expires unless its validity is extended or renewed under the then-current terms.

9. Availability & Changes

We aim to keep Baraati available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the platform at any time, with or without notice, including for maintenance. We are not liable for the unavailability of third-party providers (e.g. delivery of one-time-code emails or push notifications).

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Baraati LLP shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of content, or loss of revenue.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000 (whichever is greater).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Baraati LLP and its partners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your content, your violation of these Terms or applicable law, your negligence or violation of any third party's rights, or (if you are a Host) your handling of guest data.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Pune, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to applicable law. The parties will first attempt to resolve disputes amicably by contacting support@baraati.co.in. Failing amicable resolution, disputes shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, before a sole arbitrator, with the seat and venue at Pune, conducted in English.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Baraati after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email.
