Email support@baraati.co.inDelete specific data without closing your account
You do not have to delete your whole Baraati account to remove individual data. Each of these takes effect immediately in the app:
- Government ID documents — open the wedding → Profile → the Government ID card → Remove. The document and its encryption key are erased.
- Photos and videos you posted — open your post in the Feed, tap its options, then Delete. The post and its uploaded files are removed.
- Travel, accommodation and RSVP details — edit or clear them at any time from your wedding Profile.
- Leaving a wedding — ask that wedding's host to remove you, which removes your guest record from it.
To withdraw consent for an optional feature, or to request deletion of specific data you cannot remove yourself, email support@baraati.co.in from your registered email address. We will verify and process the request within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your profile (name, email, mobile, city, date of birth, profile photo)
- Photos and videos you uploaded (feed, Behind-the-Scenes, I-Spy)
- Any government ID documents you uploaded
- Your RSVPs, travel/accommodation details, and game activity
- Your push-notification tokens and login identity
What may be retained
- Limited security and access-audit logs we are required to keep for legal and safety reasons, retained only for a limited period.
- Content you contributed that a wedding host has independently exported or published (e.g. in a post-wedding album) may remain outside our control.
If you are the owner/host of a wedding, transfer ownership to a co-host before deleting: open the wedding → Admin → Guests, make a co-host an admin, then tap Make Owner. You can delete your account once you no longer own any wedding.
